Legal Information

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This Legal Information page explains who operates this website, how the business behind it is registered in the United Kingdom, what you may and may not do with the material published here, and where to find the other policies that govern your use of the site and any services you buy from us. It is written in plain English so that visitors, customers, contributors and suppliers can see at a glance the legal identity of the operator and the rules that apply. Where this page refers to another policy, that policy forms part of the same set of terms and should be read alongside this one.

The website is a professional hub for live television production. It covers studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups and the reliable production processes that keep news programmes, interviews and live shows on air. It is a commercial website: some areas describe services and products that we supply for a fee, while other areas are provided free of charge for the benefit of the production community.

1. Identity of the website operator and its role

The website is owned, published and operated by fizzbrix. That single legal entity is the data controller for personal information collected through this website, the supplier of any services you order from us, and the party responsible for the editorial and technical content you see here. There is no separate trading entity standing behind the site.

The role of the operator is therefore threefold. First, we publish information and reference material about live production practice, including equipment integration, camera movement, room acoustics, lighting design and production workflows. Second, we offer and deliver related professional services and training to broadcasters, production companies, studios, freelancers and corporate clients. Third, we maintain the technical platform, including the contact form, the cookie banner and any account or download areas, and we decide how personal data collected through those features is used.

If you are unsure who you are contracting with, the answer is the registered company identified in the next section. Any trading style, brand name or abbreviated name used on this website is a trading name of that company and does not create a separate legal person.

2. Legal form, registration details, tax identifiers and responsible representatives

The operator is a private company limited by shares, incorporated and registered in England and Wales. Its principal legal identifiers, which are displayed on this website in line with the Companies Act 2006 and the Companies (Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2008, are as follows:

  • Registered Company Name: fizzbrix (this is the full registered name, not merely a brand or trading style).
  • Company Registration Number: 13033970, issued by Companies House.
  • Place of Registration: England and Wales.
  • VAT Registration Number: 494089156. Value added tax is charged on qualifying supplies at the rate in force at the time of supply, and a VAT invoice is issued for every taxable sale.
  • Registered Office Address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire HP9 1LG.

Because the company trades internationally in some areas of its work, the same identifiers appear on invoices, order confirmations, quotations, business letters and electronic communications, as required by United Kingdom company law and by the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002. Where the organisation supplies services rather than goods, it also provides the information required by the Provision of Services Regulations 2009, including its legal status, business address and details of any relevant trade registration, authorisation or professional body membership.

Responsibility for the company rests with its board of directors, whose details are filed at Companies House and are matters of public record, together with the details of any person with significant control. Where the name of a director appears in a business communication other than in the body text or as a signatory, the names of all directors are disclosed at the same time, as the trading disclosure rules require. Day-to-day editorial responsibility for this website, including the accuracy of legal pages and the handling of data protection enquiries, sits with the company's management team.

The company does not hold a regulated professional licence for broadcasting itself; any broadcast, transmission or spectrum authorisation required for a particular production is held by the commissioning broadcaster or the relevant service provider, and we work within those authorisations. Where a specific piece of equipment is supplied under a hire agreement, the applicable safety certification and insurance arrangements are set out in the hire documentation and in the Terms and Conditions.

3. Registered office and how to reach us

Our registered office address, which is also the address for formal legal notices and for service of documents, is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire HP9 1LG. Correspondence sent there is collected during normal office hours on working days.

The fastest route for commercial enquiries, bookings, technical questions and requests about this notice is the contact form on our Contacts page. You may also reach us by email at info@nfts.co.uk or by telephone on 01494 671234. We aim to acknowledge messages within two working days, although response times may be longer during major production periods or public holidays.

Please use the following routes for the following matters: general and sales enquiries through the contact form or by telephone; data protection requests, including access and deletion requests, by email marked for the attention of the data protection contact; complaints and billing queries in writing to the registered office so that they can be logged formally; and legal notices, including any claim or statutory notice, in writing to the registered office. Contact details published on this page are provided for legitimate communication only and may not be used for unsolicited marketing.

4. Purpose, scope and intended audience of the website

This website exists to support professionals working in live television production. Its scope includes studio equipment integration and signal flow, dynamic camera techniques and movement, acoustic optimisation of studios and control rooms, lighting setups for news, interviews and live shows, and the production processes and checklists that make live output dependable. Some pages describe services you can commission; others are reference material that you can read without paying anything and without creating an account.

The intended audience is a professional and semi-professional one: directors, producers, technical managers, vision mixers, camera operators, sound engineers, lighting designers, studio facilities staff, freelance crew, students on production courses and the procurement teams who buy production services. The website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of thirteen.

Although the website is directed principally at users in the United Kingdom, it can be reached from anywhere. If you access it from outside the United Kingdom, you are responsible for complying with your own local laws, including any rules on imported equipment, spectrum use, data protection or consumer contracts. Nothing published here is a substitute for site-specific risk assessment, electrical safety testing, employer duties under health and safety law or professional engineering advice, and technical guidance must always be adapted to the particular studio, rig and production you are working on.

5. Access to the website and acceptable use

You may browse the public areas of this website free of charge. Access is provided on a temporary basis, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, including any download or account area, without notice where this is necessary for maintenance, security or legal reasons.

When using the website you agree not to do any of the following:

  • use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable regulation, industry standard or broadcasting code;
  • copy, scrape, harvest or systematically extract content, data, contact details or listings by automated means, or use crawlers and similar tools against the site without our written permission;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, its administration areas or any connected system, or probe, scan or test its vulnerability;
  • introduce viruses, malware, denial-of-service code or any other harmful material, or interfere with the normal operation of the site;
  • impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation, or submit false or misleading information through the contact form or any enquiry channel;
  • use the contact form or published communication channels to send unsolicited advertising, chain messages or bulk correspondence;
  • reproduce, resell or redistribute substantial parts of the site's content, or present it as your own or as part of a competing commercial offering.

Where you are given an account, quotation portal or download link, you are responsible for keeping any credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under them. Tell us promptly if you believe your credentials have been compromised. We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken, and we may report serious incidents to law enforcement or to the relevant regulator.

6. Ownership and permitted use of content, trademarks and other intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in this website and its content are owned by fizzbrix or licensed to it. That includes the text, page layouts, diagrams, studio schematics, checklists, photographs, illustrations, video clips, audio material, course and workshop materials, software, source code and the selection and arrangement of the content.

The company name, logo, brand names, product names, service names, slogans and the look and feel of the site are trade marks or protected signs of the operator or its licensors. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or affiliation without prior written consent.

You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to view the public pages of this website and to print or download individual pages for your own internal, non-commercial reference. Beyond that, you may not reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, licence, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from any part of the site without our written permission. Quoting a short extract with a clear credit to this website is permitted where the use is fair and genuinely incidental.

Where we publish material supplied by third parties, including manufacturer specifications, equipment photography or guest contributions, those rights remain with the relevant owner and are used with permission or under an applicable licence. Any trade marks of third parties are acknowledged as belonging to their respective owners.

We take infringement seriously. If you believe that material on this website infringes your rights, please contact us at info@nfts.co.uk with enough detail to identify the material, the right relied on and your contact information, and we will investigate and, where appropriate, remove or amend the material.

7. Accuracy, availability and proportionate limitations of liability

We prepare the content of this website with reasonable care and skill, and we try to keep technical information current. Even so, live production equipment, firmware, standards and working practices change quickly, and the material here is general guidance rather than a bespoke specification for your studio. We therefore do not warrant that every page is complete, accurate or up to date at the moment you read it, and you should verify critical technical details, ratings, load capacities and safety requirements with the manufacturer or a qualified engineer before relying on them.

The website is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, that defects will be corrected immediately, or that the site or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components. You are responsible for your own network security and for maintaining your own backups of anything you upload or download.

Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for any breach of the terms implied by statute that cannot lawfully be excluded, or for any other liability that the law does not permit us to exclude. Where goods or services are supplied to a consumer, the consumer's statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and related legislation are unaffected by anything on this page.

Subject to the paragraph above, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of or damage to data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or reliance on its content. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the website's free content is limited to one hundred pounds. Liability in respect of paid services and hired equipment is dealt with in the Terms and Conditions and in the relevant hire agreement, including any agreed cap and any insurance obligations.

We are not responsible for failures or delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including power failures, network or internet outages, industrial action, severe weather, epidemics or acts of government.

8. External links and third-party content

This website may refer to or describe third-party products, manufacturers, standards bodies, software tools and industry organisations. Such references are provided for information and professional convenience only. They are not an endorsement of a supplier, a guarantee of performance, or a statement about the suitability of a product for any particular production.

We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, pricing or privacy practices. If you follow a reference to an external site, you do so at your own risk and should read that site's own terms and privacy notices. Likewise, where a third party links to this website, that link does not imply any approval or association with the linking site.

Where a third party has commented on, reviewed or contributed to content on this website, the views expressed are those of the contributor and not necessarily ours, and we do not accept responsibility for them. If you believe an external reference or third-party contribution is inaccurate, unlawful or misleading, please tell us so that we can review it.

9. Data protection, privacy and cookies

We process personal data in accordance with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). In practice this means that we only collect the information we genuinely need, we tell you why we need it, we keep it for no longer than necessary, and we protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures.

Personal data reaches us in a number of ways: when you complete the contact form on our Contacts page, when you email or telephone us, when you order services or hire equipment, when you submit a review or feedback (where such a feature is offered), and automatically through server logs and analytics that record technical information such as browser type, referring page and approximate region. We rely on different lawful bases depending on the purpose: performance of a contract for order and service administration; legitimate interests for secure operation of the site and for responding to business enquiries; consent for non-essential cookies, for analytics where consent is required, and for any marketing messages; and legal obligation for tax, accounting and record-keeping.

You have rights under the United Kingdom data protection framework, including the right to be informed, of access, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction, to data portability, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which is the supervisory authority for the United Kingdom. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@nfts.co.uk or at our registered office address, and we will respond within the statutory period.

Cookies and similar technologies are used to keep the site working, to remember your cookie choices and to measure how the site is used. A cookie banner is displayed on your first visit, and non-essential cookies are only set after you have given a clear, affirmative choice; you can accept or reject them, change your mind at any time, or manage them through your browser settings. Pre-ticked boxes and implied consent are not used. Full details of the cookies we set, their purposes and their retention periods are set out in the Cookie Policy, and further information about how we handle personal data, how long we keep it and who we share it with is set out in the Privacy Policy. Both documents should be read together with this page.

10. Terms and conditions, orders, payments and refunds

The supply of any paid service, course, workshop, consultation or item of hire equipment is governed by our Terms and Conditions, which take precedence over any descriptive content on this website if there is a conflict. Where you order as a consumer, the Terms and Conditions incorporate the cancellation rights described below and the information requirements of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Prices shown on the website are indicative unless expressly stated as firm quotations, are stated exclusive or inclusive of VAT as indicated at the point of sale, and may change before an order is accepted. Payment terms, deposits, late payment interest and accepted payment methods are set out in the Terms and Conditions and in the order documentation.

Cancellations, refunds, credits and charges for cancelled bookings or shortened courses are governed by our Payment and Refund Policy. That policy explains the position for cancellations made by you and by us, the treatment of deposits, and how any refund is calculated and paid. Nothing in that policy reduces the statutory rights of consumers, including the right to cancel a distance contract within fourteen days of conclusion where the statutory conditions are met, and the right to a remedy where a service is not performed with reasonable care and skill.

11. Applicable law, competent courts and consumer dispute rights

This notice, the use of this website and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraphs below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own part of the United Kingdom, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rules of the law of your place of residence. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Economic Area, nothing here removes the protection afforded to you by the mandatory rules of your country of residence.

If you are not satisfied with our service, please raise the matter with us first through the contact form, by email at info@nfts.co.uk or in writing to our registered office, so that we have the opportunity to resolve it. We will acknowledge a complaint within five working days and aim to provide a substantive response within twenty-eight days. We are not obliged to use an alternative dispute resolution provider, but we will consider any reasonable proposal to do so. Consumers in the United Kingdom may also seek advice from Citizens Advice or from Trading Standards, and consumers who bought online may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform where it remains applicable to them.

We reserve the right to bring proceedings to protect our intellectual property, confidential information or network security in any competent jurisdiction.

12. Other legal formalities, accessibility and complaints

Modern slavery and human trafficking. Where the organisation meets the turnover threshold set by the Modern Slavery Act 2015, it publishes a slavery and human trafficking statement for each financial year describing the steps taken to prevent modern slavery in its supply chains and in its own business. The current statement is published on this website each year and is referenced from the home page so that it is easy to find.

Accessibility. We want the site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation or magnification. We aim to follow recognised accessibility guidance for contrast, focus order and text alternatives, and we welcome reports of barriers you encounter so that we can fix them.

Business conduct. We comply with United Kingdom anti-bribery and anti-money laundering rules, we do not tolerate bribery, kickbacks or facilitation payments in any part of our business or supply chain, and we comply with applicable export control and sanctions restrictions when supplying equipment or technical services internationally. Staff and subcontractors are expected to report any concern about unlawful or unethical conduct.

Health, safety and insurance. Production work carries real physical risk. Any rigging, electrical, lifting or working-at-height activity that we provide is carried out or supervised by competent persons and is covered by appropriate public and employers' liability insurance. Clients remain responsible for the safety of their own premises, crews and contributors. Insurance details are available on request for contractual purposes.

Complaints and record keeping. Formal complaints, contractual notices and legal correspondence should be sent in writing to our registered office so that they can be logged, dated and answered within the timescales set out in section 11.

13. Changes to this notice, and the contact route

We review this Legal Information page regularly and will update it whenever our legal identity, contact arrangements, service offering or the applicable law changes. The date shown at the top of the page is the date of the most recent revision. Material changes are reflected on this page, and continued use of the website after a revision takes effect signifies acceptance of the revised notice. Where a change affects an existing order or contract, we will notify affected customers directly.

If you have any question about this notice, about the registration details shown above, or about how we handle your information, please contact fizzbrix using the contact form on our Contacts page, by email at info@nfts.co.uk, by telephone on 01494 671234, or by post to Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire HP9 1LG.
